It’s no secret that Whole Foods Market is my favorite grocery store everrr, and today I get to share with you exactly why that is, along with a brand new recipe for my Yummy Mummies! This is the PERFECT recipe to make for any Halloween parties coming up!
For my husband Mike and I, Whole Foods has been a definite game changer in our journey to health & wellness. In this video, we’ll show you why we believe Whole Foods is AMAZING, and we’ll also give you pointers on how to shop more affordably!
We go to Whole Foods typically 2-3 times a week to stock up on our favorite items, or sometimes for a quick lunch from the hot bar! To really sum up my love for Whole Foods – I’d move in if they’d let me. 😉
Mike and I had sooo much fun making this video, and we hope you enjoyed watching!
Whole Foods is extra awesome for anyone following any type of special diet, as they carry SO many items that you will not find at other grocery stores. From fully legit dairy-free milk and cheese, to a large selection of gluten/grain-free crackers, baking mixes, pasta and pizza – they have it all!
When you’re first changing your diet, it can sometimes feel overwhelming with how & where to shop, in order to find the items that work for you. It’s such a breath of fresh air knowing that you can go to Whole Foods Market and find all of these incredible items, to fit your dietary needs!
By switching the foods that I eat, I completely changed my entire life. Up until just a few years ago, I never viewed food as something that could actually help my body heal and thrive. Now I view the food that I eat as my most powerful “medicine,” because that’s truly what it has become for me. Mike and I now view FOOD AS FUEL, and we eat what we know makes us feel healthy & strong, and we now avoid that which doesn’t make us feel our best.
Something pretty cool I just learned about Whole Foods products is that although some of them may look like the exact same item you may see at another store, they could actually be completely different! Let’s use the brand, Method, as an example. Whole Foods requires special formulations for specific products, in order to meet strict guidelines & standards, with the intention of providing a healthier and cleaner product for you. So even though you may see a different price tag than you’d see at another retailer – you may truly be comparing “apples to oranges,” because they are in fact two completely different items.
There are plenty of easy ways to save money at Whole Foods, from shopping their bulk grocery section to their special weekly sales! Every Wednesday, Whole Foods releases a new & special sale of the week, on top of other awesome sales that are happening everyday!
The Whole Foods App is also another amazing way to save money! They offer special coupons that aren’t listed anywhere else, including in store. It’s super easy to save, all you need to do is show the cashier the a barcode that shows up on the app to save on your items! You can also easily create a shopping list using any of the recipes that you’ll find within the app!
A brand new Whole Foods is opening near us in Walnut Creek, California, and to celebrate, they’re giving away a $500 gift card! To enter for your chance to win, simply sign up for their email newsletter!
With Halloween right around the corner, I wanted to create a really fun, yet simple appetizer that you can make in just minutes! I used pre-made items found at Whole Foods, and they all happen to be paleo as well, including grain-free pasta and dairy-free ricotta!
I hope you enjoyed reading & watching more about what makes Whole Foods so AWESOME to us, as well as this recipe for my Yummy Mummies!
Yummy Mummies
Equipment
- Stovetop
Ingredients
- 8 lollipop sticks
- 4 sausage links (I used Taverrite's Make It Italian)
- 1 package Cappellos grain-free fettuccine
- 8 ounces dairy-free ricotta (I used Kite Hill Brand)
- 8 ounces marinara sauce (I used Rao's Homemade)
- 1 small carrot, sliced small (to use for the "mummy" eyes – optional)
Instructions
- Cook the sausage and pasta according to the package directions. Cut each sausage link in half and skewer onto the lollipop stick. Wrap each sausage with fettuccine noodles to create a "mummy" look. If using carrots, press them onto the fettuccine to create the eyes!
- Serve hot, along with the dairy-free ricotta and marinara sauce for dipping!
