It made sound overly simple and even cliché that two words can change your life, but it’s been true for me. I’m a big believer that happiness can come from things that may seem small, and the words that we say and the thoughts that we think can make all the difference.
So, what are the two words that changed my life?
I know, it seems too simple, but…
Thank you is a form of gratitude, and as I’ve learned, when you’re in a state of gratitude, it’s impossible to feel negative energy. You can’t be grateful and angry/jealous/irritated/etc at the same time.
I wrote the words “thank you” on an index card that’s placed on the nightstand next to my bed. It’s the first thing that I see every morning when I wake up, and the last thing that I see before I go to be every night.
I repeat those words to myself, and I can’t help but smile.
Even when life is challenging, it’s often the simple reminder that I need that there is ALWAYS something to be grateful for.
If, at the very least, we can be thankful just to be alive and to get to see another day.
