After sharing a super personal post this past week all about the 7th anniversary since my last surgery (and exactly 5 years since changing my diet!) the messages, emails and comments began to pour in from hundreds of you. While I LOVE being able to connect with you one-on-one, I wanted to do something a little different to respond to all of the questions that would really help you so much more. That’s exactly where this Ask Me Anything – Episode 1 comes into play!
While I’m not always able to respond to every individual message that I receive, I do always read them. Here’s where I need YOUR HELP – If you find this Q&A video format helpful (or not) I’d LOVE for you to let me know in the comments below. If the majority of you find this helpful, then I’ll announce when these Ask Me Anything videos will be happening so that you can submit any and all of your questions to be answered by me!
I know just how easy it is to feel alone in your struggles, as I’ve felt that way in the past too – but I can promise you that you’re never alone. Within the hundreds of questions, there were only 7 common themes, all of which I answer in this video below!
I also brought my hubby, Mike, into this video (he’s also my incredibly talented videographer!) so that you’ll get 2 different opinions for every question. He knows my story better than anyone else, as he’s been THROUGH it with me over the past 15 years. There are no words for how much his support has shifted and changed my life for the better. I think you’ll love his input as well!
To break it down for you, here’s where you’ll find each question/answer in this video for Ask Me Anything Episode 1:
#1 (1:44) – How long did it take me to notice changes after switching my diet?
#2 (4:12) – What exactly do I eat? Do I eat 100% paleo?
#3 (6:38) – What supplements do I take?
#4 (7:36) – Do I struggle with nutrient absorption?
#5 (8:32) What was the ONE thing that made the biggest difference in my healing? Was it multiple factors?
#6 (12:14) How do I stay motivated despite slow progress/set backs?
#7 (18:00) How did I take that first step towards change?
I follow you on Instagram and really enjoyed the video. I’ve wanted to DM you but you just answered my questions which was awesome! I’ve had a j pouch for 24 yrs and just had my upteenth obstruction and I’m having a hard time coming back. I believe diet is a HUGE part of it and it will take eating clean to let my gut settle but thanks for the shocker… I have to change my mind and not give up! Thanks for using your battles to help others🤗

Thanks, June!
I really enjoyed this. My 11 year old was diagnosed with Celiac disease the day before thanksgiving last year. He’s been gluten free for about 2 months but still has a lot of abdominal pain. I cannot get him to eat a vegetable for anything. Listening to your story actually made me cry. I pray someday my kiddo will understand the importance of the food he eats. You guys are both amazing and a huge inspiration. Thank you
I was diagnosed with Crohn’s at 12, so I can definitely understand how TOUGH that age is, when really, you just want to “fit in.” Just know that whatever you’re doing right now is enough. SO much love to you, Tammy!
Loved this so much! And I really appreciated your husbands thoughts too. Our mindset is a huge factor in improving our health or whatever change we are aiming for. Thanks for the encouragement!
Thanks, Linette! So happy to hear that!
Loved it! Keep the videos coming each month with more Paleo eating, fitness, and healthy living. Maybe a future video could talk about how you started your fitness journey and built the strength for the gym? I love your strength!
Love the ideas, thanks Andrea!
Loved the video! My favorite part was your positivity and the message about mindset and how your thoughts play such a big part. It was inspirational seeing the two of you living your best life and sharing that with others!
Thanks so much, Jessica! So happy it helped you!
Just now saw the video! It was great. You two are super inspirational and such a fun couple to watch! You obviously care so much about each other, about getting the message to be healthy (physically and mentally) to everyone – it’s fantastic! I love your tough love, but also the reminders that it’s not an instant process! Thank you for being real.
Thanks so much, Char!
