Bolognese is one of my favorite, super quick meals to make, and while you could easily serve this over zoodles or spaghetti squash, I personally love having it over sautéed veggies!
Eating real food can be so simple, and it’s my goal to show you just that with these posts! This 20-minute Bolognese & Veggies is more of a step-by-step of what I did to put this meal together, but if you’d like an actual recipe, check out my Easy Stovetop Bolognese or Slow Cooker Bolognese!
Here’s what I did to create this 20-minute Bolognese & Veggies meal:
STEP 1: GATHER THE INGREDIENTS
Here I have 1 lb of ground beef, 1 red onion, 3 garlic cloves, Italian seasoning, sea salt, black pepper, broccoli florets and asparagus.
STEP 2: HEAT THE PAN
I melted some ghee in my pan over medium heat.
STEP 3: ADD THE VEGGIES
I added the veggies to the pan and covered it with a lid for approximately 3 minutes.
STEP 4: PLACE THE VEGGIES IN A BOWL
I put the veggies in a bowl and placed the bowl into a warm oven while I made the Bolognese.
STEP 5: COOK THE ONION & BEEF
I then added about a tablespoon of ghee to the pan and sautéed the onion until soft, about 2-3 minutes. I added the ground beef to the pan and sautéed it until cooked through. I then drained the fat from the pan.
STEP 6: ADD THE SPICES
I added the minced garlic, approximately 3 tablespoons of Italian seasoning, and 1 teaspoon of both sea salt and pepper to the pan and sautéed until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
STEP 7: FINISH THE BOLOGNESE
I added the crushed tomatoes to the pan, stirred everything together and brought the Bolognese to a simmer. I reduced the heat to medium-low and simmered for 5 minutes. You can simmer it longer if you’d like!
STEP 8: ALL DONE!
I topped the veggies with the Bolognese and called it dinner!
